My current fitness program - 21 Day Fix

I do all of my workouts from home.  As a working mom who commutes, exercising from home is what works best for me.  I'm constantly challenging myself with new programs and exercises. I'm about to embark on a new program for me, the 21 Day Fix.  I've been thinking about this one for months.  To tell you the truth, I was worried. Worried that I would fail at it. So many people have seen phenomenal results. But this program is more than exercising. That part is easy for me. It's the nutrition component that scared me. I've never been disciplined about my eating habits until I started exercising. Even today, I'm aware that there is room for improvement. Enter the 21 Day Fix.

So, here's how it works. The program comes with a container system and a shaker cup, as you see above, and DVDs that contain 30-minute bootcamp-style workouts.  Each container represents a different "food group," and the program allots you a certain number of containers a day, based on your calculated fitness goals. It seems simple - there is no need to count calories or log your meals. You just eat the foods in the container, and do the workout of the day.

The program also comes with a detailed guide setting forth the different foods that qualify for each category, to help with your grocery list. It provides very basic recipes to get you started, but clearly, the focus is on eating clean without the hassle. Anything that you will be eating will be categorized into the container system - that includes olive oil, wine/juice and cake.  There is a place for everything, and special allowances for treats and dining out!

I've rounded out my shopping list by shopping for fruits, veggies and lean meats (the perimeter of the grocery store). Other items I picked up are spelt bread, eggs, rolled oats, oven-roasted nitrate free deli meats, cottage cheese, canned tuna, and tofu.
