Strong not skinny

After the birth of my first child in 2009, I was in the worst shape of my life, physically and emotionally.
After a brief three month maternity leave, I was back to working full-time as corporate lawyer in Manhattan. I was exhausted - working long hours, pumping at work, eating crap and barely exercising (does running to catch the train count?) I was suffering from countless headaches and dizziness. I was a wreck.
By the time my son turned 2, my second baby was born. Mentally, I was in a better place. I was starting a new job and getting closer to a work-life balance. Physically, I was in the worst shape of my life. Skinny-fat, out of shape, and weak.
Taking the first tentative steps into fit living was the best decision I've made for myself.
I slowly started to exercise from home, at 5AM most days. Based on my schedule, I wasn't able to hit the gym. I started Brazil Butt Lift from Beachbody, and loved it. I was energized and more fit than I had been in years. Since then, I've dabbled in Insanity, P90X, and completed Chalean Extreme. I started running again. I began hot yoga. I started to put thought and care into my food choices. And I haven't looked back since.
I've created this blog to share my workouts, recipes, healthy living and wellness tips, and my favorite workout gear, apps and toys.
I also love all things New York (born and bred in Brooklyn), classic jazz, coffee, and travel. And Star Trek. My husband is my rock and my two babies are my stars.
